Work, work, work!
You can do many things to earn your daily bread, the most common thing is finding a job. I am in the fortunate position that I have always had a job that I really like.I started working at DVC Telematica as a DTP/Database specialist but after I while I focussed more on marketing. After a while I made it to marketing manager. DVC Telematica was a company that mainly operated in my home town, Groningen. CSS bought DVC Telematica and due to that I became marketing manager for the three Northern provences of the Netherlands because CSS was a lot bigger as a company. Unfortunatly CSS went bankrupt and just before they did I was lucky enough to be employed by QuikTrak.
QuikTrak was a company that built and develops positioning systems. I really liked this job because it gave me great freedom in the things that I would like to do. The company was based in Australia, Korea, United Kingdom and were going to start in the Netherlands as well. I was responsible for their marketing and IT systems. Personally I feel that is sad that the company did not succeed in its goal to give the world a safe and secure positioning system.
And now...a new challenge! I have become the senior marketing manager for Exact Software in the Netherlands for their subdivision Exact Maatwerk. I think this will be the most interesting and challenging job ever and I am really looking forward to it. First I am going on a two week course to Kuala Lumper, not bad...
