A little bit more about myself
Hi there everybody! Well...a little about me and what I like to do. Actually that question can be answered really simple, I like fun things! But...fun is very subjective so I think it requires some explanation :)
At the moment I write this I am 28, 29, 30, 31 32 years old, employed at QuikTrak Networks plc as Senior Marketing Marketing Automation Manager for Exact Software and live in the Netherlands. People who want to see a picture, well bad luck :) If you wanna see me come see me in real! I studied economics and information technology at the university of Groningen, a town in the north of the Netherlands'.
Girlfriend Patricia!
The most important factor of my live is ofcourse my girlfriend Patricia. She is the most trust worthy, handsome and funny woman in the galaxy, without a doubt. Since the 1st of January 2007 we are living together. Before that I always lived on my own and for me it was a big step, but it turned out to be a success. It's fun!
Patricia is working as a teacher at an elementary school and really enjoys her work. We like to go out, play games and have good diners together. She does not really like to be on the internet, so unfortunatly I can't show you any pictures. Sorry guys! ;)
Art and design
Probably one of things I spend most of my time on, besides working ofcourse, is art and design. Besides electronic gadgets I also collect a very simple things but something which can be found very difficult. Balls which are completly round, solid and made of only one material. I'm really proud that I finally found a cristal boll after years of searching. You always see them on TV but finding a big one is a real disaster.
I posses a wide selection of balls I collected over the years. If somebody can send me some gold, silver and diamond balls just send me an email and I'll come and pick it up myself :) Besides that I also like art of Mc Escher, Mondriaan and some other modern artists. But I think that a museum can tell you much more about those people than I can.
Computers, programming, hardware and software!
One of my other hobbies are computers and programming them in such a way that they become a part of the home so that they can be used as versatile machines. My own computer is used as TV, radio, CD-player, computer, addressbook, diary and much more. If you want to read more about this webpage which I also made completly by hand and not by using Frontpage or some other editors you can read the page "My website". I don't think it's very interesting to name all the programs I made right here and right now so I'll skip that for your sake ;)
Cars, cars, cars! Toyz for boyz!
Ford Taunus
I started driving cars at a young age, hey I know that's not legal but who cares? Anyway, ofcourse it was always done at a safe area away from the public road because else there would have been real troubles ;)
The first car I had was a Ford Taunus, a really great car but I wrecked it to pieces. As a matter a fact one of the cylinders is still sitting here on my desk so you can imagine what happened to the poor car...but at least now I know how a car works because I tore it apart myself :)
After that I had an other Ford Taunus, but that one had an automatic transmission and since the Netherlands is also sunny sometimes I turned that one into a cabriolet. Unfortunatly the car had a "self-carrying-chasis" so it wasn't safe anymore to drive at high speed but I didn't had a drivers license anyway, so where's the problem?
VW Golf
My first serious car with a license was a VW Golf, 1.6 with automatic transmission. It was a very fine car which my grandfather gave to me. I drove it for 7 years and really VW makes fine cars because you can drive them for 7 years and never go to the garage and they don't break down! Okay...after these 7 years the starter engine, cylinder head gasket, drive shaft and much more were complete wrecked but what other car can go without a garage so long?
I modified this car a little, it had a TV with a strong antenna amplifier so that you could pick up cable TV if you were standing close to a home. It also had a camera on the rear bumper which was also connected to the TV. Very easy for parking. Besides that it had several gadgets like flashing headlights like the FBI has, oil injection on the exhaust (great for smoke!) and some more.
Ford Ka
My recent car is Ford Ka and drives like the wind! It's 1.3i, 44 Kw, collection edition model. The Ka is a design car and you either like the car or hate the car. At this moment it is not yet modified but that is because I want to keep this car original for five years after I purchased it. When this period is over I was thinking of adding some of my old VW Golf gadgets. A TV in the dashboard, perhaps a DVD system, a QuikTrak system and perhaps I will do also something with the Ford logo. I was thinking of doing something with these tiny bendable tube-lights.
Suzuki Swift
A sad moment turned into a happy moment when I finally made the decission to abandon my old car and get a new one! Goodbye for the Ford Ka, welcome to the Suzuki Swift! It has all the possible options, airco, electric windows, etc… and one very special gadget…keyless operation. The engine is a 1.5 liter, 16V, 75 kW engine doing 1-100 in exactly 10.0 seconds. Changing gears is done by an electronic gearbox and the engine is very silent at normal refs.
Some pictures of the Suzuki Swift
My Suzuki LJ80
My other recent car, yes...I posses two cars, I know that it is not environment friendly to own two cars, but I like cars and what's wrong with a little of fun? Well, my second car is a Suzuki LJ80. This a four wheel drive jeep with high and low gearing. The car is almost a classical because it's 23 years old. I did most of the repairing myself. When I received it, the brakes were not working, the engine had not run for a long time and lots of other tiny things.
You can read all about the restauration of this if you click here.
And much, much, much more...
This page would be to extended and boring to name all the things I like because I'm sure you don't like them all :) If you wanna share something with me don't hesitate to email!
